Open Records Request on Joe Wardy

I sent my opponent an open records request regarding the police detention of Joe Wardy at the airport for possessing a firearm in a secured area. As we know, my opponent refused to prosecute Mr. Wardy and also refused to have him arrested. Had it been anyone else, anyone else would have been arrested based on the go ahead from the DA and then thrown in jail and then indicted in state court and prosecuted by the DA. Because Wardy's case was not handled in this manner and was given such special treatment by my opponent, I have asked my opponent for documents in his office surrounding his role in the Wardy case. If procedure had been correctly followed, there should be documents showing how Esparza declined to prosecute Mr. Wardy. The news had also reported that besides Mr. Wardy there have been three other individuals whose cases were diverted from the usual route of arrest and prosecution to the route reserved for special people, to the FBI. I also asked for documents surrounding the cases of those three lucky individuals who were never arrested.
