April 20th, 2007 Border Observer and My Platform

I recently spoke before a group on my campaign. The Border Observer and El Diario (which publishes the Border Observer) had at least three of their reporters in the audience. The members of the general public present as well as the reporters asked me questions on my views on city and county issues. The Border Observer put my answers together and published an article in today's border observer which reads as though I had written the piece. It is a very informative article. What is most interesting was how well versed the audience was on the issues. My statements are really my answers to their many and good questions. Click on www.borderobserver.com for the article and then go to the article entitled "Restore Rule of Law."

If you have any questions for me, be sure and post them here.

Esparza doesn't have just one secretary that he pays a fat bonus to. He also has a full-time "PR" assistant and a donut-chaser who is supposedly the DIMS secretary.

I had to share one incompetent secretary with at least six other ADAs when I worked there and had a computer that was so out of date I finally just brought in my own laptop.

No fat bonus for the regular ADAs. Just bad management.

Yes XADA,

Amy Lujan gets a $35,000 bonus on top of her $35,000 salary. That is $70,000 for a secretary at taxpayer's expense. And let me tell you, he is not one bit embarassed about this. Every year she gets $5,000 more. And when questioned about it he becomes irate. Why?

The attorneys and other staff, with exceptions, get paid what one would expect in this county. There is no money for COLAs or secretarial help, but there is money for Amy to get a big fat paycheck and for Amy to fly to Mexico City on "legal business" even though she is not an attorney.

There will be more on the Amy Lujan business and the disgustingly poor management down there which results in poor service to the people of El Paso, Hudspeth and Culberson counties.
